Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer in-person therapy?

No. ALIVE Counseling is a fully virtual practice. All sessions are conducted through a secure telehealth platform.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults experiencing a variety of concerns, including anxiety, grief and loss, self-worth and confidence challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, life transitions, and workplace stress.

While I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, I am particularly attuned to the experiences of women, especially Black women, navigating personal, professional, and relational challenges.

What is your approach to therapy?

My approach is integrative and grounded in humanistic principles.

I believe people have the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand the patterns, beliefs, experiences, and relationships that influence how we think, feel, and move through the world.

Together, we work to increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional well-being, and create meaningful change that aligns with your values and goals.

What is Performance Therapy?

Performance Therapy is a clinically grounded therapeutic approach that explores how emotional well-being, self-beliefs, relationships, and life experiences influence how we function in our daily lives.

It is not coaching.

Performance Therapy is rooted in professional counseling and focuses on helping individuals identify and address the barriers that may be limiting growth, fulfillment, confidence, and effectiveness in the areas of life that matter most.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies based on each individual’s needs, goals, and circumstances.

Some clients seek short-term support focused on a specific concern, while others choose to engage in longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and personal growth.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions.

As therapy progresses, session frequency may be adjusted based on your goals, progress, and preferences.

Is therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic relationship.

Information shared during therapy is kept confidential except in situations where disclosure is required or permitted by law, such as concerns involving safety, abuse, neglect, or court orders.

Confidentiality policies will be reviewed in detail during the informed consent process.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

Many people seek therapy because they want greater self-understanding, support during a life transition, assistance navigating a challenge, or help creating meaningful change in their lives.

If you are considering therapy, a consultation can help determine whether ALIVE Counseling may be a good fit for your needs.

Getting started is simple.

Step 2
